A STAPLE Tiptree business has helped raise more than £1,200 for charity after its customers took part in an annual event.

Wilkin and Son's tearoom The View at Osea has donated an impressive £1,293 to the British Heart Foundation after taking part in National Cream Tea Day.

The firm and its partners at Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream are the joint founders of the Cream Tea Society which set up charity day.

Customers and staff at Tiptree tea rooms across Essex and Southwold have taken part in the event to generate cash for good causes.

Staff from The View at Osea recently met with Laura Gasson, area fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation, to share the amount raised for the charity.

Laura said: “Thank you to the staff and customers who took part in National Cream Tea Day.

“Around 200,000 people in Essex are living with heart and circulatory diseases.

“Your support is helping fund scientific breakthroughs that can save and improve the lives of millions suffering from heart and circulatory diseases.”

Aimee Smith, marketing manager for the Tiptree tearooms, added: “The British Heart Foundation was the charity chosen by staff this year, for some very special reasons.

“We look forward to working with Laura on a new skills project for our staff in the autumn.”
