IF you’re in need of a laugh and enjoy seeing the biggest and brightest comedians, well you are in luck.

Throughout October, four nationally recognised comedians will be heading to Charter Hall, in Colchester.

Here's a list of the famous faces set to perform in the city venue next month:

Gyles Brandreth

On October 6, Gyles Brandreth will be presenting his one-man-show, ‘Can’t Stop Talking - a show which will try to work out why he continually rambles on.

Doors for the event open at 6.30pm and general admission tickets cost £26.50.

Brandreth is a well-known TV personality, writer, and former politician. He has appeared in numerous television programmes such as Pointless, QI, Would I Lie To You and Celebrity Googlebox.

Sarah Millican

Renowned stand-up comic Sarah Millican is bringing her Late Bloomer show to the venue on October 15.

This show will explore how a shy teenager turned into the loud, endearing comedian she is today.

Doors open at 7.00pm and tickets cost £37.

Sarah Millican is from South Shields and has risen to prominence over the last several years as a comedian, writer and presenter.

Frankie Boyle

Scottish comedian Frankie Boyle will also be appearing at Charter Hall, Colchester, on October 16.

Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets start at £29.50.

The controversial comedian and writer is best known for his very dark sense of humour and cynical persona.

 A spokesman for the event said: “Frankie Boyle’s on tour. Buy a ticket, because by the time he arrives, the currency will be worthless and you and your neighbours part of a struggling militia that could probably use a few laughs.”

Jimmy Carr

One of the UK’s biggest comedic entertainers, Jimmy Carr, is returning to Charter Hall on October 18.

The Terribly Funny 2.0 show will allow the humourist the display his latest comedic chops.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets start at £34.

Mr Carr is known for his quick-witted remarks and as the host of Eight Out Ten Cats, as well as its Countdown spinoff.
