A FARE-DODGER has been fined four years after he was caught without a train ticket.

Jonathan Banes, 25, was found without a valid ticket entitling him to travel at Colchester Town railway station on September 9 2019.

He has now appeared before Southend Magistrates’ Court four years on from the offence, which he admitted.

Banes, of Dowding Close, Colchester, was fined £220.

He was ordered to pay a further £182 in costs and a surcharge, while also having to stump up £3.20 in compensation for the dodged ticket.
