COLCHESTER Zoo is celebrating after being recognised with a coveted global award.
Tripadvisor announced the zoo has been recognised as part of its Travellers’ Choice awards which celebrates businesses which have consistently received great feedback on the review platform.
With its award, the zoo joins the ten per cent of all venues listed on Tripadvisor globally which have received this recognition.
Colchester Zoo’s business development manager Melissa Dench said it was “wonderful” to receive the award and thanked the zoo’s visitors for their support.
She said: “We are very grateful that our visitors take the time to leave their feedback.
“Not only do they help others who may be planning a visit, but we listen to these reviews and identify areas of which we can improve. We strive to provide a first-class visitor experience, so an award like this is very much appreciated, especially within our 60th anniversary year.”
The zoo, in Maldon Road, Stanway, celebrated its milestone birthday in the May half term week and is continuing to welcome guests throughout the year to celebrate the landmark anniversary with a range of exciting activities.
Earlier this year it announced it will become a charitable trust called Colchester Zoological Society in January 2025.
