A ROAD in Colchester is due for work which will see overnight closures for ten days.

Mile End Road will be closing from its junction with North Station Roundabout in a north easterly direction.

As well as this the southbound directional lane on the Mile End Road will close from its junction with Bruff Close to its junction with North Station Roundabout.

In addition, the bus lane on Mile End Road will be temporarily suspended from its junction with Bruff Close to its junction with North Station Roundabout to enable through traffic for the duration of the closure only.

The closures and restrictions are due to commence on September 11 for ten nights from 8pm to 5am and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Virgin Media.

An alternative route is available via North Station Roundabout, Northern Approach Road, Nayland Road, Mile End Road.

  • Elsewhere in Colchester, two roads are also set to close on the same day.

One day later, on September 12, both Nayland Road and Victor Road are set to close.

Nayland Road will close from its junction with Studds Lane to its junction with Leechs Lane, meanwhile Victor Road is shutting from its junction with Barrack Street to its junction with Artillery Street.

Nayland Road will close for just one day while connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Victor Road is shutting for three days while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • In the Braintree district, several roads are due to shut.

A lengthy closure is coming to Braintree Road and Cressing Road in Cressing.

The closure will be from the junction with Cressing Road Roundabout to the junction with Mill Lane.

The closure is scheduled to commence on September 11 for 67 nights from 8pm to 6am while duct installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

  • Another overnight closure is coming to a road in Bocking.

Deanery Hill will shut from its junction with Church Lane to its junction with Churchill Road for three nights from 7.30pm to 5am.

The closure is scheduled to commence on September 14 and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • In Braintree, Alpha Close will be shutting from its junction with Skitts Hill.

The closure is scheduled to commence on September 11 for five days.

This is while duct laying works are undertaken by Virgin Media.

  • An 18-day closure is coming to a road in a small mid Essex village.

Toppesfield Road in Finchingfield will close from its junction with Wethersfield Road in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on August 29.

It is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • In the Maldon district, there are two road closures drivers should be aware of.

Green Lane in Burnham will be closing from a point south east of its junction with Pinners Close in a south easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on August 19 for just two days while resurfacing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

A couple of weeks later, Tudwick Road in Tolleshunt Major will shut from a point north east of its junction with Crossways in a northerly then north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on September 13 for seven days while mains renewal works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.
