A TEENAGER has been arrested as part of an investigation into two burglaries in Colchester.
Essex Police were called to separate Highwoods properties in Gavin Way and Weetmans Drive on Saturday, August 5.
Both properties had been searched and items taken including handbags and car keys.
Officers believe the burglaries happened between 3.30am and 4.10am.
Essex Police has since issued an update and confirmed a 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A spokesman said: "Officers have arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of burglary.
"It follows an investigation into two burglaries at Gavin Way and Weetmans Drive, Colchester, on Saturday 5 August.
"The teenager has been released on bail until 5 October whilst our enquiries continue."
