A "bold, new, frantic assembly production" of Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis is to be held at Mercury Theatre.

This adaptation is thanks to the creative works of BAFTA nominated poet, playwright and broadcaster Lemn Sissay OBE and Frantic Assembly’s artistic director Scott Graham.

Kafka’s Metamorphosis is a powerful depiction of humans struggling within a system.

This tragic and absurd story follows Gregor Samsa who transforms from a breadwinner into a burden.

Frantic Assembly is renowned for its use of physicality and movement and Metamorphosis will be no different, producing an inherently visceral show of the limitations of the body and mind.

All of these stellar aspects, coupled with the fluidity and lyricism of Lemn Sissay’s adaptation, promises an exciting and dynamic show.

Following their acclaimed performances in Frantic Assembly’s sell-out tour of Othello, Joe Layton, Felipe Pacheco and Hannah Sinclair Robinson will play vital roles. They will also be joined by Troy Glasgow, starred in A Streetcar Named Desire, and Louise Mai Newberry, starred in Romeo and Juliet.

In a co-production with Theatre Royal Plymouth, Curve Leicester, MAST Mayflower Studios and Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, become awed with the magic show of Metamorphosis from November 7-11.
