A driver who admitted using his phone behind the wheel on a major south Essex road has been fined.
David Croucher, 55, of Broad Road, Swanscombe, was driving on the A13 Westbound in Basildon on January 2 when he was caught using a mobile phone, Southend Magistrates' Court heard.
Croucher admitted the offence on July 14 and has been fined £659.
He must also pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £264 and costs of £110.
His driving record was endorsed with 7 points.
