A PENSIONER who reversed into a pedestrian crossing the road has been fined.
David Moore, 80, backed his Vauxhall Astra into the pedestrian while they were crossing Leys Road in Wivenhoe, on December 21 last year.
An offence of driving without due care and attention was proved in Moore’s absence from Southend Magistrates’ Court.
Moore, of Spring Lane, Wivenhoe, was handed six penalty points on his driving licence.
He was fined £151 and ordered to pay a further £170 in costs and a surcharge.
