POLICE have spoken to 50 food delivery drivers who did not have the correct licence or insurance to carry out their work.
Operation Callous has been introduced to tackle the issue of drivers and riders without proper licences and insurance delivering fast food.
The initiative aims to promote road safety and ensure that individuals operating delivery vehicles are compliant with legal requirements.

Under UK regulations, riders who wish to use motorcycles with 'L' plates must have completed compulsory basic training, known as a CBT.
Operation Callous specifically targets those who fail to meet this requirement or lack the necessary insurance coverage.

Over the course of the operation in High Street, approximately 50 drivers were spoken to and multiple vehicles were seized for no insurance otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
