ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on a prominent road in Colchester which left a cyclist with serious head injuries.

Officers were called to an incident on Turner Road at around 5.45pm on Saturday, May 20, following reports of a collision involving a bicycle and a car.

The cyclist was traveling along Stanford Road in the direction of Holden Road prior to the accident. The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries to their head, although their injuries are not believed to be life-changing.

Investigating officers are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed anything during the time of the incident.

A spokesperson from Essex Police said: “We are partially looking to speak with the drivers of two vehicles who stopped at the scene but left before officers arrived.
