One of the stars of a hit BBC series will be performing at Colchester Arts Centre.

Fans of The Fast Show have the chance to see actor and writer Simon Day, who starred in the long-running sketch comedy.

He is stopping by Colchester as part of his Dave Angel Eco Warrior Living The Dream Tour.

Named for one of his characters from The Fast Show, the gig will take place on June 6.

However, Day will not be the only presence on stage during the performance.

He will also appear in the guise of multiple characters from The Fast Show.

This includes the aforementioned Dave Angel, blazer-wearing entertainer Tommy Cockles and the opinionated Billy Bleach.

Day created all three characters in addition to playing them on The Fast Show.

Of the trio, Angel will be taking the lead as he intends to warn the audience of the dangers of impending eco peril.

A spokesperson for Colchester Arts Centre said: “We’re delighted to have Simon Day here with us.

“He’s no stranger to Colchester Arts Centre as he has played here several times before. His last visit was in 2017, he’s always really popular and goes down well with the Colchester audience.

“It’s a bit of a father and son duo this month as we’ve also got Tom Davis (Simon Day plays his dad in the hit show King Gary) here on Friday June 16.

“There’s a handful of tickets left for tomorrow show with Simon Day. Book online at www.colchesterartscentre.com.”

Tickets for the show cost £22.

Doors open at 7.30pm, with the show starting at 8pm.
