TWO village roads are set to be hit with a speed restriction… lasting for almost half a year.

Maldon Road and Main Road in Danbury will see a temporary 40 mph speed limit introduced, from a point south east of the junction with Sandon Interchange Roundabout in a south easterly direction.

The restriction is scheduled to commence on June 16, and last for 168 days.

The restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new development works are undertaken by JSM Construction.

n In Colchester, a bus lane is to be temporarily suspended due to footway repair works being undertaken by Essex County Council.

During the works, which begin on July 6, Osborne Street will close from its junction with Vineyard Gate in a south easterly direction.

As well as this, the bus lane will be suspended in Osborne Street from its junction with Stanwell Street south eastwards for a distance of 20 metres.

The closure and restriction is scheduled to last for three nights from 7pm to 5am.

n Also in Colchester, two roads are set for temporary turning restrictions.

Harwich Road will see a temporary ‘no right hand turn’ restriction from Harwich Road into Hazelton Road.

Meanwhile, there will also be a temporarily ‘no left hand turn’ restriction from Hazelton Road, into Harwich Road.

The restrictions are scheduled to commence on June 14 for one day while manhole replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

n Just outside of Colchester, a road is shutting for nearly a week.

Blind Lane in Birch will close from its junction with Hardys Green to its junction with Maldon Road.

The closure is scheduled to commence on June 26 for six days.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

n In Maldon, a trio of concert events are set to add temporary restrictions to roads in the area.

Maldon Promenade Park is playing host to the Classic Ibiza show on Friday, June 9, Soultasia on Saturday, June 10 and Raver Tots on Sunday, June 11.

A temporary one-way restriction will be introduced northbound on the entire length of Park Drive from its junction with Mill Road to its junction with Mundon Road.

Another one-way restriction will also be coming on Mill Road westbound from its junction with Park Drive to its junction with Mundon Road.

Parking restrictions will also be in place on Mill Road for a distance of approximately four parking bays between the boundaries of house numbers 60 and 68.

The restrictions are scheduled to commence on June 9 to June 11 between 11am and 11.59pm, or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting and is required to facilitate the Promenade Park Concerts.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

n In the Braintree district, a road is set to close for two weeks.

Rectory Road in Stisted will be closing for 14 days on June 14.

The closure will from a point south west of its junction with White House Road in a south westerly direction.

It is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.
