A CRASH at a car meet in Colchester has prompted a police investigation.

Essex Police were called to Abberton Reservoir at about 6.30pm on Sunday after receiving reports of anti-social driving. 

Officers were also informed about a white BMW which had crashed into railings at the side of a road after sliding onto the grass verge.

The force has now launched an investigation into the incident and is appealing for witnesses and anyone with footage to come forward.

A spokesman from Essex Police said: "We believe a number of vehicles had been driven anti-socially in the build-up to the incident, including a motorbike which failed to stop for our officers when directed.

"Our officers are now investigating the circumstances which led up to the collision and carrying out enquiries to locate the motorbike.
