A MAN exposed himself after approaching a girl close to a busy road in broad daylight.

The alleged incident was reported just after noon on Friday, May 5.

The suspect, a man in his mid-to-late 20s, is claimed to have approached a girl before speaking to her and indecently exposing himself.

Essex Police has launched an appeal for information following the incident.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information following an incident where it was reported a man indecently exposed himself in Colchester.

“It was reported to have happened in Canterbury Road at 12.40pm on May 5.

“[The suspect is] a man, described as white, chubby, aged between 25 and 30, with ‘dirty blonde’ hair and described as driving a black four-door hatchback.

“He approached a girl, engaged her in conversation before exposing himself.”

Canterbury Road is between Mersea Road and Old Heath Road, close to St George’s Junior School.

Launching their appeal, Essex Police added: “If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.

“Please quote the crime reference number 42/81844/23.”
