THE friends of a man who “thrives off making others happy” have offered their words of support as he fights for his life.

Police officers found Charnce Jeffries unconscious on the floor of a car park off Tamarisk Way in Greenstead, Colchester, last Friday evening.

The charismatic 24-year-old had been enjoying a night with his friends before he became involved in what they are describing as a “tragic accident”.

Charnce’s peers have since raised more than £16,000 to support his family as they stay by his bed at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridgeshire.

He remains fighting for his life having suffered a bleed on the brain.

The young man’s friends have since given their words of support to him as they anxiously await news of his condition.

“Come on Charnce mate, if anyone is going to get through this it’s going to be you,” said Callum Venner.

“I love you to bits and can’t wait until we’re back together, I’ll be with you every step of the way my big brother. God is on our side.”

Jack Brown added: “Come on up you get brother, we’re all missing you and your mental traits.

“You are the most thoughtful person I know, always putting other people ahead of yourself.

“Love you mate, we’ll be up and dancing in no time.”

Close pal Harry Willoughby has remained by Charnce’s side in hospital since Friday alongside the patient’s family.

He described his mate as “the life and soul of Greenstead”.

Jez Bullard added: “Charnce is the life and soul of any party and he has been for the past 20 years of knowing him.

“We’ve had so many laughs over the years and I just know he’ll love to see all of his friends and family pulling together to be there for his mum and dad and especially him.

“He would do the exact same for any of his friends no questions asked and that’s why he’s one in a million.”

Zack Ennew, 26, of Goring Road, Colchester, has been charged with grievous bodily harm without intent in connection with the incident.
