A MAN described as "a walking legend" is in a coma after being injured in what his friends are branding a tragic accident.
Charnce Jeffries was found unconscious on the floor by police officers in a car park off Tamarisk Way in Greenstead, Colchester, on Friday evening.
The 24-year-old, described as the “life and soul of Greenstead”, remains in a coma with a bleed on the brain at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridgeshire with his family by his side.
Charnce’s friends have since raised £16,000 to support them as they continue to stay at a hotel in Cambridge to be near to him.
His mum, Sam, has now issued a heartfelt message to her son as he continues to fight for his life.
“Come on boy, you can do this,” she said. “You are our world, our big pain. You’re as nuts as can be but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

“You will be OK, you have to be. We are absolutely broken. I’m actually missing you shouting ‘Mum where’s this? Where’s that?”
“I am desperate for you to wake up.”
Charnce, who went to Hazelmere Junior School before attending Colchester Academy, has been hailed for his kindness towards others.
Best pal Harry Willoughby said he, Charnce and other friend Riley Ennew are like the three Musketeers.

“He’s a living, walking, talking legend. The life and soul of anything, anywhere,” he said.
“He is the most selfless person I know and would do anything for anyone, he thrives off others being happy.
“Charnce is the life and soul of the party, the life and soul of Greenstead.”
Riley added: “Charnce you’ve got this my man, keep fighting because that’s what you do. There’s no other option in my eyes.”
Charnce’s loved ones are now holding a series of fundraising events to support his family.
On May 20 and 28 a “Dance for Charnce” rave will be held and on May 21 a cycle from Addenbrookes to Colchester will take place in the morning before a charity football match at 12.30pm.
