LARGE parts of Colchester will be left without power for an hour this afternoon as electricity suppliers carry out work in the area.
According to UK Power Networks, the energy company which maintains electricity for London and the East of England, planned works will see both the 'CO3 5' and the 'CO3 9' postcodes left without power.
The map shows parts of Colchester near Straight Road which will be affected, as well addresses close to Halstead Road and London Road.
Areas of Fordham Heath could also experience disruption.
A statement on the UK Power Networks website read: "We're carrying out planned work in your area.
"For our engineers to carry it out safely they need to turn the power off.
"We're doing this work as it's essential to provide reliable electricity supplies to your area.
"We're sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience."
It is expected the electricity will return at 4.30pm on Sunday.
