A MAN has suffered life changing injuries after he was knocked unconscious in Colchester on Friday night.

Essex Police officers were called to a car park off Tamarisk Way, near Blackthorn Avenue, in Colchester, at just after 10pm on Friday.

The police force has released a formal appeal for witnesses.

Police say a man in his 20s was found lying unconscious in a car park after sustaining.

He remained in hospital yesterday.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody. 

An Essex Police spokesman appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any footage which might help their investigation to come forward.
