A STUNNING Tudor manor house with large gardens and grounds soaked in rich history is up for sale.

Westwood Park in Little Horkesley is currently on the market at a guide price of £6.25m.

Westwood Park was a business centre previously owned by the Bunting family.

However, the site was sold when their firm, Bunting and Sons, went into administration in 2013 with debts of £14.7million.

The Buntings’ business collapsed after they failed to win approval to develop a multi-million pound heritage and tourism centre at Horkesley Park, which they believed would be a major tourism boost for the area and create more than 100 jobs.

The Horkesley Park venue had been used as office space and as a wedding venue when it was owned by W and H Park Ltd.

Wand H Park spent £6.3million to buy the assets, which included Westwood Park, Horkesley Park, the Chantry and other properties.

Later in 2015, the house was purchased by semi-retired private investor Stuart Harris.

It was marketed for £3million with estate agents Savills in late 2014.

Mr Harris, 42, originally from Chelmsford, planned to convert the Tudor manor house, which dates back to the 17th century, to a home for his family of five.

Now, it finds itself on the market once again.

The huge Grade-II listed home has nine bedrooms, four bathrooms and six reception rooms.

The home was originally built in 1692 and rebuilt in Elizabethan style in 1908.

It is situated on 52.32 acres of land surrounded by a two bedroom East Apartment, three bedroom East House, two bedroom Orchard Cottage and three bedroom Garden Cottage.

The site also has various outdoor offices, a walled garden and a swimming pool.

There is also planning permission for a log cabin.

The entire manor is well lit with natural light coming in from the huge windows and the interior is decorated beautifully.

The estate off London Road in Little Horkesley will require a deposit of a hefty £625,000 and monthly mortgage payments are estimated to cost about £34,542 per month.
