A FAULT on an underground electricity cable has left residents without power this morning.
Residents living in the postcode area of CO7 8 have been without power since 1.57am this morning.
An area of road may have to be dug up in order for engineers to carry out repairs.
The power is expected to be back on for residents affected in Great Bentley, Alresford and surrounding areas by 11.30am at the latest.
A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “We became aware of a power cut at 01:57. We’re sorry for any disruption this may have caused you.
“We didn’t know in advance there would be a power cut but now that we know, our teams will do everything they can to get your power back quickly.
“Engineers are now on site, carrying out investigations into the fault. Once they have completed their assessment, they will carry out repairs.”
