VILLAGERS could be left with electricity for as long as five hours this morning as engineers carry out works.
UK Power Networks has reported a planned power cut which will impact residents living in south Colchester.
Some of the areas that may be hit include Peldon, Abberton and High Park Corner, as well as other key spots in the CO5 7 postcode.

The power cut should last around five hours and power should return between 1pm and 2pm.
A spokesman from UK Power Network said: "We're carrying out planned work in your area.
"For our engineers to carry it out safely they need to turn the power off.
"We're doing this work as it's essential to provide reliable electricity supplies to your area.
"We have sent our customers an advanced warning letter 12 days before we carry out the work.
"If you didn’t receive a letter please give us a call and we can check our records to ensure we have the correct information for you.

"This is because we may need to check a piece of equipment is running safely into your property.
