A HISTORICAL mill is set to host an Easter event for egg-hunters and adventure seekers.
Bourne Mill, just outside Old Heath, Colchester, built as a fishing lodge in 1591, is set to host an Easter event over the weekend.
The Grade I listed building hides a lengthy history and the grounds surrounding the mill will be filled with eggs hidden by Easter Bunny for brave hunters to find.
The weekend extravaganza will also include story-telling, crafts for all ages, bookstalls and refreshments.
Egg-static activities will happen between Friday, April 7 and Monday, April 10 from 11am until 3.30pm.
The event is free to attend, but families which want to participate in the Easter trail need to buy tickets for £3 per child.
A spokesman from Bourne Mill said: "Our Mill is a unique Elizabethan fishing lodge and watermill, set on charming grounds with gardens, a wildlife area and a mill pond.
"Easter is always a popular and lively event at our historical building attracting hundreds of people over the bank holiday weekend.
"This year’s trail is fun, interactive and adventurous and is ideal for children of all ages.
"We will also provide light refreshments for our visiting families.
"Easter Adventures at Bourne Mill will run from Friday until Monday.
"Entry for our easter adventure is free of charge and booking is not required.
"The event will feature an Easter egg trail with games and activities finishing with a chocolate egg, charged at £3 per person.
"There will also be children’s stories and crafts, historical talks, book sales and refreshments.
"During the Sunday event, there will be a fascinating nature table from members of the Colchester Natural History Society.
"Please note that there is parking on site only for blue badge holders and visitors are strongly advised to arrive on foot."
