A CAREWORKER who had "lost all hope" of finding her bike after it was stolen has been reunited with her beloved two-wheeler.

Heidi Mcshera, of Colchester, who has been an in-house carer for two years, was left ‘feeling hopeless’ after a crook snatched her electric bike.

The Carrera Crossfire Hybrid Bike, worth £1500, was pinched from outside a home in Wivenhoe while she tended to her 93-year-old patient.

Heidi had been given the bike by her employer to help her travel from Colchester to the gentleman's home.

Amazingly, however, Heidi has since been reunited with her bike thanks to her eagle-eyed mum Glenda.

After shopping in Tesco Express, in the High Street, she walked past McDonald's, where she came face-to-face with her daughter’s beloved bike.

To confirm it was her daughter's, Glenda called Heidi, who recognised the distinctive marks and the repairs and adjustments she had made shortly before the theft.

Heidi said: “I still can’t believe it. I feel over the moon, my manager is over the moon.

“I could never have dreamed my mum would have found it.

"It is nice to have a bit of luck for once. Thank god my mother was around at the right time.”
