A DRIVER has been fined for almost causing a collision on the A12.

Oliver Cherrington, 28, “waited until the last minute” to enter the road at Ardleigh’s Crown Interchange junction on September 25 last year.

Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard his driving saw a “narrow miss” between the front near side wing mirror of another vehicle travelling in lane one.

Cherrington, of Beeleigh Link, Chelmsford, admitted driving without due care and attention and was handed six penalty points.

He must also pay £632 in a fine, surcharge and costs.
