FRANK Nouble has signed for National League strugglers Torquay United on a deal until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has a new club, after leaving Colchester United by mutual consent last week.

He will link up again with his former Colchester team-mate Tom Lapslie at Plainmoor.

Writing on social media, Nouble said: 'Booom! Let’s go big challenge ahead 9 cup finals! Let’s believe& hope I can help in a big way with the boys in this mission of #survival Looking forward to see you all soon'

Nouble made more than 150 appearances for Colchester, during his different spells for the club.

Torquay boss Gary Johnson told the club's website: “It’s great news that our Club has managed to secure the services of Frank Nouble.

“Talks have been ongoing, and we’re pleased to say that Frank’s agreed to join us.

"The club have worked very hard to make it happen, and to bring in someone at this stage, as experienced as Frank is, is no mean feat.

“Frank undoubtedly had a few options, and we’re glad he’s decided to take the opportunity to come to us.

"At 31 years of age, he’s had a lot of experience out there, and is not only an influence on the pitch, but will be well-respected in the dressing room.”

Nouble first joined Colchester in the summer of 2018, after leaving their League Two rivals Newport County.

He was an integral part of John McGreal’s side, as the U’s finished eighth and sixth before losing to Exeter City in the League Two play-off semi-finals.

Nouble left Colchester to sign for Plymouth Argyle in the summer of 2020, but returned to the U’s on loan in the January 2021 transfer window.

The former West Ham United youngster’s move to Colchester became permanent in the summer of 2021 and he went on to add 50 further appearances for the club.
