ROYAL Mail deliveries are experiencing delays across a variety of Colchester postcodes today.

According to the Royal Mail website, which posted a service update on Wednesday morning, eight Colchester postcodes have been affected again.

The Colchester delivery office which is responsible for postcodes CO1 to CO8 is listed as one of 30 offices in England experiencing issues.

It means residents in Old Heath, Berechurch, Layer, Lexden, Stanway, Greenstead, Highwoods, and other areas outside Colchester have had little or no coverage from the Royal Mail.

The Essex offices experiencing problems and postcodes affected are Colchester postcodes CO1 to CO8.

This covers:

  • CO1 - Colchester
  • CO2 - Old Heath, Berechurch, Layer de la Haye
  • CO3 - Lexden, Stanway
  • CO4 - Greenstead, Highwoods, St Johns, Myland, Boxted, Braiswick
  • CO5 - Tiptree, Kelvedon, West Mersea, Peldon, Rowhedge
  • CO6 - Coggeshall, Earls Colne, Marks Tey, Great Tey, Chappel, White Colne, Wakes Colne, Copford, West Bergholt, Great Horkesley, Wormingford, Nayland, Stoke-by-Nayland, Polstead
  • CO7 - Brightlingsea, Wivenhoe, Great Bentley, Alresford
  • CO8 - Bures, Alphamstone

A number of residents have contacted the Gazette after not having post for "two or three weeks"

The Braintree delivery office serving CM6, CM7, and CM77 is also affected by service disruption.
