The refurbishment comes one year after another Aldi supermarket, the Magdalen Street branch, was closed for two weeks as it underwent a major refit.

On Friday, Aldi also announced it is giving all store colleagues in Essex a pay rise from July, with starting pay for store assistance increasing to £11.40 per hour.
