A MINI eco-warrior cares so much about the environment that she has been begging her grandmother to take her on litter pick-ups every time she looks after her.

Chloe Burrell, who is six, has been asking her grandmother, Carol, to take her on litter picks around Rowhedge, clearing up litter.

The youngster ‘cannot bear to see rubbish lying around’ and looks to make a change in her community.

Carol said Chloe loves her environmentally friendly hobby saying once: “Nanny, this is the best day of my life!”

Speaking on her granddaughter’s efforts, Carol, of Rowhedge, said: “Often people stop and thank us for our hard work, they seem really surprised to see someone so small collecting litter.

“One thing I have noticed is how many people not only drop rubbish but also leave bags of dog faeces all around.

"I often think if people are not going to take it to a bin, which is always preferable, surely they would be better to let it decompose naturally, than leave it in a plastic bag or even tie to a tree. Plastic take decades to break down.

“I often wonder if a six-year-old can care so much about the environment, what is wrong with people who knowingly drop their rubbish where ever they go? I am very proud of little Chloe.”
