AN adaption of an award-winning young adult novel which combines physical theatre and visual effects will be staged at city centre arts venue.
Run Rebel will be performed at the Mercury Theatre, in Balkerne Gate, Colchester, from Thursday through to Saturday.
The show, directed by Tessa Walker, is a collaborative co-production between the Mercury and revered performance company Pilot Theatre.
It follows runner Amber, who feels trapped by her family’s rules and expectations, as well as her own fears and darks thoughts.
The performance, considered the world premiere adaption of Manjeet Mann’s Carnegie Medal-winning novel, kick-starts the Mercury’s 2023 Spring programme.
Ryan McBryde, creative director, said: “At the Mercury, our aim is to provide exhilarating, shared experiences for our community.
