Bengal Diner in Colchester closes and relocates to Colchester Spice

The Bengal Diner, in Fox Street, Ardleigh, has had to close its doors to customers. 

In a statement on social media the restaurant said it had been unable to negotiate a suitable lease at their existing premises.

The grill and tandoori restaurant is now in the process of merging with Colchester Spice, in Barrack Street, combining their services and carrying over some customer favourites.

The restaurant has advised all of its customers will be contacted over the next few days with some special offers to "make up" for the inconvenience caused by shutting the restaurant.

As of now, the restaurant's takeaway ordering system will be back up and running and will continue their popular all you can eat buffets and Monday curry nights.

The restaurant has advised their number has changed to 01206 510548.

The call will be answered as Colchester Spice, however Bengal Diner customers will receive a special discount.

A spokesman for the restaurant released an online statement apologising for the closure.

The statement reads: “Hi everyone. We are very sorry for all of the inconvenience that the closing of the restaurant has had.

"We are pleased to let you know that all your favourite dishes and curry nights, buffets and tribute nights will be back. We have merged with the Colchester Spice on Barrack Street, Colchester.

“We will have some very special offers to try and make it up to you. We hope we will see you in our new home shortly.

“We will be dropping the name Bengal Diner, however, all the things you loved about us will be the same.

 “We will have lots more news over the coming days. If you want to place an order for delivery, see the phone number in the post, our ordering system will be back up and running shortly.”
