AN all-star band boasting a punk rock pioneer and legendary drummer are set to celebrate the anniversary of an iconic singer’s classic album.

Lust For Life, featuring Blondie beat-maker Clem Burke and Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, will be staged at Colchester Arts Centre, in Church Street, on March 9.

The musicians will also be joined by broadcaster and Pet Shop Boys dancer Katie Puckrik on vocals and David Bowie collaborator Kevin Armstrong on guitar.

During the show, which will include instrumentalists Luis Correia and Florence Sabeva, the band will perform Iggy Pop’s Lust For Life LP to mark its 45th anniversary.

Throughout the special Colchester show, for a standing audience, the group will also revisit songs from across the individual band members’ careers.

Glen Matlock said: “To be on stage with these fellow like-minded guys and gals and celebrate our collective musical ancestries should be a pleasure.

“So come on down and let’s all hit the roof together.”

Clem Burke added: “Everyone in the group is looking forward to a great night of rock ‘n’ roll with a few extra surprises in store.”

Tickets for the performance, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £20 and can be purchased by visiting colchesterartscentre.com.
