Drivers were diverted down a bus lane after reports of a police incident. 

The A134 southbound was blocked at the Essex Hall roundabout just off North Station Road. 

A number of police vehicles were at the scene. 

When the Gazette passed the scene it appeared a police vehicle had broken down on the road, resulting in the delays.

Cones were put out to help drivers move around the obstruction. 

Initially, drivers were diverted down the North Station Road bus lane. 

There was slow traffic on all approaches to the roundabout. 

AA Traffic map showed long delays in all directions.

Essex Travel News said: "Colchester – A134 Southbound BLOCKED at the Essex Hall roundabout (North Station Road) following a police incident. Traffic is being diverted into the bus lane on North Station Road. Delays on approaching roads."
