AN entrepreneur has opened the doors to a new pop-up shop stocking dozens of products from across Essex.
Love Local, the new business started by Rhianna Essex, 39, is carefully selecting stock from 30 businesses and producers.
She hopes to sell her locally produced wares to the people of Colchester across Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter.
The emporium, based in Layer Road, will stock a selection of candles, soaps, jewellery, artwork, decorations, skincare, pottery and even pre-loved children’s clothing.
The business started in October 2022 as a pop-up gift emporium, which was a huge success over the festive period.

It returned last week and will sell goods until April 22.
The idea came from owner Rhianna, who also runs Cotton Rainbow, a Colchester business which makes rainbow wall hangings and accessories, as well as running workshops from her home in Colchester.
On how she came up with the idea, Rhianna said: “I am very passionate about supporting local creative businesses and being one myself has enabled me to build an incredible network of friends to help this dream become reality.
“I hope to bring Love Local to as many people as possible, I'm always looking for unused spaces that could be used to hold pop-up shops and events, and I'm excited for what we have planned for 2023.”

She added: “I'm really excited to be back at Layer road in February, the local community welcomed me and the Love Local family with open arms for our Christmas pop up.
“We have a great location with free parking directly outside, we are nestled between Ralph & Rita Martin florist and Colcheco refill shop, it's thanks to the lovely Rachel from Colcheco that we are able to pop-up here.

"Rachel kindly lets me take over her storage shop where she usually keeps all of her refill bottles and jars for her refill shop next door.”
The store is open now and can be found on Layer Road. It is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, from Saturdays 10am, till 4pm until the April 22.
