A MAN suffered a serious head injury after being attacked with a glass.

Essex Police have launched an investigation into an assault that was carried out during the early hours in Coast Road, West Mersea.

According to the police, a man in his 20s was assaulted just after he left the Coast Inn pub at around 1am.

It was reported he was struck with a glass leaving him with a laceration to his head.

CCTV images of a woman who officers want to speak to in connection with the incident have now been released by police.

The incident happened at around 1am on January 1.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “This is an unusual incident for the area and we don’t believe there is a larger risk.
