FORMER Colchester United winger Dion Sembie-Ferris has returned to the professional game after signing for National League club Scunthorpe United.

The 26-year-old has been reunited with Iron's new management duo Jimmy Dean and Chris Plummer, after leaving Peterborough Sports.

Sembie-Ferris arrived at Colchester as an academy player at the age of 17 from non-league outfit St Neots Town.

He made his senior debut for them as a substitute in an FA Cup defeat at Cardiff City in January, 2015.

Sembie-Ferris went on to make three league starts for the U's, with his last was in their Football League Trophy defeat against Southampton under-21s, when he was on target in a 2-1 defeat.

After spending time on loan at Concord Rangers and Margate, he had his Colchester contract terminated by mutual consent in August, 2017.

He returned to former club St Neots Town and then signed for Peterborough Sports in November 2018.

Sembie-Ferris was a key player in the Turbines' rise through to National League North, scoring 39 goals in 56 games.

He is line to make his Scunthorpe debut in their home clash with Barnet, tomorrow night.
