A MOTORIST was caught driving at 46mph within a residential speed limit by road safety campaigners.
Speed checkers from Safer Essex Roads cast a watchful eye over the roads in Eight Ash Green on Wednesday morning.
The highest speed they recorded was an Audi driver travelling at 46mph within a 30mph limit.
The campaigners also spent time offering road safety advice and information at the Co-op in Peartree Road, Stanway.
Later in the day they could be seen taking action in Colchester High Street.
