A FEROCIOUS live act described as “unapologetically chaotic” are set to headline a city centre event in celebration of grassroots venues.

False Heads will perform at Three Wise Monkeys’ recently relaunched top-floor gig setting, in High Street, Colchester, on Sunday for Independent Venue Week.

Considered one of the most followed up and coming bands in the country, the energetic three-piece have garnered more than one million streams on Spotify.

For fans of The Pixies and The Ramones, the post-punk trio is comprised of frontman Luke Griffiths, bassist Jake Elliott and drummer Barney Nash.

During their Colchester show the east-London group will perform tracks from their recently released their 12-track album It’s All There, But You’re Dreaming.

A spokesman for the band said: “The tracks delve deep into the world of gnarly, outspoken, real-talk, riff-heavy rock music delivered with maximum authenticity.

“False Heads have delivered a journey of social subject matters, cultural talking points, political opinions and everything in between.”

Ahead of taking to the venue’s new bar-facing stage, the audience will also be treated to performances from Low Lying Sun and Grebbo.

Tickets for the 8pm show cost £10 on the door or £8 if purchased in advance from threewisemonkeyscolchester.com.
