MULTIPLE dates have been added for city centre staff to attend free training to help keep women safe on a night out.

The training hopes to increase visitor safety, as well as women’s safety and decrease any potential negative effects which arise from the night time economy.

The training is available for anyone working in and around the night time economy and will cover several important topics, from knowing the causes of vulnerability to dealing with vulnerability in several situations.

The opportunity comes thanks to Our Colchester BID, in partnership with Your Colchester and the police and fire crime commissioner, who secured funding for the extensive list of dates.

The funding was taken from the Home Office’s safer streets fund, with the events intended for city centre staff.

There are several training dates all across January, February and March, all of which are free. The events will be held at the Community 360 building hub in the city centre, Co1 1ug.
