Diesel prices have fallen at a much slower rate than petrol prices over the past six months or so, and as things stand, diesel is still about 20p more expensive than unleaded per litre.
It means that whilst those who drive petrol powered cars are paying around £74.35 for 50 litres of fuel, those driving diesel powered vehicles are paying more than £10 more than that, at around £84.85.
There is still a disparity in diesel prices from different providers, however, meaning price comparisons still come in useful.
Here is a round-up of diesel prices for the week ahead.
1st – Asda (Turner Road): 169.7p per litre
2nd – Tesco (Highwoods and Hythe) and Texaco (Shrub End): 170.9p per litre
4th – BP (London Road) and Sainsbury’s (Stanway): 171.9p per litre
6th – Co-Op (Peartree Road): 172.9p per litre
7th – BP (Mersea Road) and BP (Ipswich Road): 173.9p per litre
9th – Esso (Bergholt Road): 174.9p per litre
