Southminster Scotts Hill crash two dead and another injured

A man and woman, both in their 70s, were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in Scotts Hill in Southminster on Wednesday.

A red Fiesta and Grey Toyota C-HR were involved in the collision at 12.45pm.

The driver of the Fiesta, also a man in his 70s, remains in a serious condition in hospital.

The road was closed until about 10pm on Wednesday, whilst emergency services attended.

The police are appealing to the public for more information about the incident.

They ask for anyone with any details in relation to the collision to get in contact.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are appealing for information and witnesses to a double fatal collision in Southminster.

“A red Fiesta and Grey Toyota C-HR were involved in a collision in Scotts Hill at 12.45pm on Wednesday, December 7.

“The road was closed in both directions whilst emergency services dealt.

“Sadly, the driver of the Grey Toyota (a man, 70s) and the passenger of the Fiesta (a woman, 70s) were pronounced deceased at the scene.

“The driver of the Fiesta, a man also 70s, remains in a serious condition at hospital.
