TELEVISION producers are looking for Colchester animals lovers interested in rehoming a dog to star in a new series of a Bafta-nominated Channel 4 show.
Five Mile Films is the company behind The Dog House, which has been described as one of the most heart-warming programmes on TV.
Set at Wood Green Animal Shelter, the show follows the work of the facility’s dedicated staff as they look to match abandoned dogs with adoring owners.
A spokesman for the Five Mile Films television company said: “With the cost of living crisis, it’s more important than ever to highlight the plight of the rescue dog.
“Channel 4’s The Dog House wants to highlight just what a rescue dog can bring to someone's life.
“The new series follows the rescue dogs but also the kind-hearted people willing to open their homes and their hearts to a new four-legged friend.
“We have started looking for people in Colchester who are interested in rehoming a dog for the next series, hopefully this is a great opportunity.”

The Dog House’s eagerly anticipated Christmas episode will air on December 21, before a new series airs in January.
