A MOTORCYCLIST “has been crying for two days” after her treasured £4,000 bike was stolen for a second time in as many months before being torched.

Sandra Zadlaviciute, 31, of Greenstead Road, Colchester, visited her hairdresser in Morant Road, on Wednesday evening, parking her Yamaha YZFR125 outside.

The expensive motorbike was a 30th birthday present gifted to her by devoted partner John Burton, 38.

After having her haircut, Sandra was left in disbelief after realising her two-wheeler had been snatched, two months after it was also pinched from John’s driveway.

Gazette:

Following the previous theft, the couple opted to have a tracker fitted to the sought-after bike in the event it should be stolen again.

After checking her phone to determine its whereabouts, Sandra was left heartbroken after finding it dumped and burnt out in a nearby private car park.

John said: “Her hairdresser’s husband drove her to the bike’s location - it was about three roads away and when they arrived it was already on fire."

John, who has been sober for eight years, added: "Firefighters came and put it out and after Sandra called me I left my AA meeting early and went straight to her – she was in bits and has been crying for two days now.

“She is really down about it and now she is getting really paranoid about it and keeping watching crimes videos on Facebook.”

The motorbike is believed to have been taken from outside the property at about 8pm, by crooks who John suspects could be young men.

Gazette:

“I know the bike is insured but we don’t have much and we’ve both worked really hard for what little we do have, so it still stings,” added John.

“I can’t say I have an opinion on them but my partner probably does.

“I hope when they grow up they don’t have to experience seeing something they’ve worked very hard for destroyed.”

Essex Police and the Essex Fire Service have been contacted for comment.
