A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy has been left “very upset” after his beloved bicycle was stolen from a secure storage area outside a train station.

PC Dane Wyatt and Sergeant Andrea Brady from the Billericay and Wickford Community Policing Team were out on patrol in Wickford this evening.

Before long they were flagged down by the parents of a devastated young boy whose yellow and black Ammaco bike had been snatched by crooks.

The theft is understood have taken place between 5.30pm and 8.30pm tonight from outside Wickford Train Station, despite being locked in a bike storage area.

It has since transpired the heartless thieves cut the lock in order to obtain the bike, which was purchased for the youngsters as a present.

A spokesman for Essex Police Basildon said: “Please help us return this bike back to this little boy by sharing this post.

“Please call us on 101 or chat to us online quoting crime reference number 42/295374/22 if you have any information regarding this theft or the whereabouts of the bike. Thank you.”
