THE organisers of a celebration of equality and diversity are preparing to host a festive fundraiser in which guests can truly embrace the Christmas spirit.

Clacton Pride, the non-profit behind Clacton Pride Festival, will host its Christmas Party on December 23 at the Clacton Railway Club in Carnarvon Road.

The evening event, taking place between 7pm and 11.30pm, will feature live music from the “accomplished and most sought-after” Domino Duo.

A spokesman for Clacton Pride said: “Bring your own food and come and celebrate Christmas in a safe environment with the Clacton Pride team.”

Clacton Pride was started with a view of making the seaside “a more tolerant and fun place to live” for people from all walks of life.

Every year the community group celebrates the LGBTQ+ community with a gloriously colourful and inclusive festival of tribute acts and talented local bands and singers.

The extravaganza also usually boats a food court and children’s area and an array of stalls from local businesses.

Tickets for the Christmas Party cost £2.50 in advance or £3.50 on the door, with money raised from sales going towards the annual Clacton Pride Festival.
