COLCHESTER Christmas market is set to return this weekend turning the High Street into a pedestrianised winter wonderland with more than 80 stalls.

The event is set to inspire festivity and will transport visitors into a festive Christmas market, bustling with gifts, seasonal foods, live performances and mulled wine.

The sizable event will see the High Street pedestrianised for the day, as Christmassy cabins line the road allowing visitors to browse more than 80 stalls to their hearts' content.

Revellers will be able to enjoy a festive bazaar which will feature craft stalls, present stalls, food and drinks vendors, as well as live music, street performers, mulled wine, Santa and funfair rides.

On the Christmas market, one of the event organisers, Don Quinn, said: “Come and have a treat, walk along your High Street, come and have a look at all the stalls, listen to the live music and have a wonderful afternoon.

“It's going to be a day of fun with lots of stalls, mulled wine, fairground rides, music and fun. And of course, Santa on an e-bike.”

The free Christmas market event will take place at Colchester High Street, on Sunday, December 11 from 10am till 5pm.
