DAZZLING illuminations are lighting up Colchester Castle Park bringing Christmas magic to young and old alike.
A spectacular lights trail has been set up around the award-winning park with colourful lights, light tunnels, flood lights and light strings bringing magic to trees and pathways.
The castle has also become the back-drop for projected festive images while the castle boating lake hosts colourful fountains of water dancing to a musical soundtrack.
There is also a place for people to leave their wishes and tiny Tinkerbells fly around decorated cages.
The Christmas attraction has been organised Enlightened Moments, which is hosting events across the country including a Luminarium in Billericay while Hylands Estate in Chelmsford and Staunton Farm in Hampshire also having their own version of Enlightened.
A spokesman for Colchester Events said: “This unique event will transform Castle Park into a magical illuminated light trail for all the family to enjoy and is just one of a full programme of events and activities happening throughout December.”
The light trail opened on Friday and will be on offer every evening for the rest of the month – with the exception of Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Tickets cost of £16 for adults and £12 for children or £55 for two adults and two children.
On Sunday, Colchester High Street will also be transformed into a Christmas market.
