A SPECIAL festive treat is set to take place at Colchester Castle as the free Christmas open evening returns.
The event will create a festive atmosphere featuring mince pies, mulled wine and a choir.
The evening hopes to inspire the Christmas spirit amongst visitors.
For youngsters, there will also be a special opportunity to meet Santa and his elves and receive a gift.
The Christmas open evening will take place on Wednesday from 3pm until 8pm.
