COLCHESTER Town Hall turned into a festive feast when it was filled with more than 50 stall holders and live entertainment.

The free two-day market offered visitors an opportunity to walk through the transformed town hall, buying exclusive, locally made gifts and treats, whilst spreading seasonal joy.

Organised by Colchester Events, the Christmas market connected artists, craftspeople, growers, makers and producers from all over Colchester, giving them the chance to showcase their work and sell their gifts.

The market was held inside of three town hall venues the Mayoral Suite, the Moot Hall and the Old Library, as the Colchester landmark was transformed into a festive bazaar.

Visitors were able to browse an enormous selection of locally sourced, handmade goods, as early Christmas presents.

Shoppers were able to purchase everything, from decorations and hampers, to pet products, jewellery, skincare, textiles, pottery and candles.

Visitors also enjoyed free, live entertainment including the aerial elves and a festive bar which served mulled wine and other seasonal refreshments.

Melissa Faux, Town Hall Events Manager, said: "This year's Christmas Market our second was fantastic and it was wonderful to see the town hall so busy.

"We were thrilled to see so many people support the event, popping in throughout the weekend to browse and shop from the fabulous range of stalls by local artists, craftspeople, growers and producers selling unique and inspiring gifts and treats for Christmas.

"We had 52 stall holders showcasing their wares to more than 5,000 visitors over both days.

"And we had great feedback, with many stallholders signed up to come back next year. We're already thinking about how we can make the event even bigger and better in 2023!"

The next festive event from Colchester Events is the Enlightened Light Trail. The brand new spectacle will transform Castle Park into a magical, illuminated light trail for families to enjoy.

The trail will see existing paths around upper and lower castle park transformed into mesmerizing light displays.

The event will take place daily from December 2 to December 31. For tickets and more information, visit bit.ly/3ie60Hf.
