A DAZZLING folk band is set to inspire awe and exalt Christmas spirit as they come to Colchester.

The Mediaeval Baebes, an internationally renown, female-led folk band, are set to spread their infectious festive joy to the people of Colchester.

 The outfit will perform Christmas carol classics, as well as traditional folksongs, in an innovative showcase of captivating storytelling.

Their performance will be set to a captivating array of exotic and period instruments, as the Mediaeval Baebes showcase their unique take on early music, traditional culture and the magic of folklore.

The Mediaeval Baebes have been one of the most successful female led, early music and folk outfits in Europe, winning a roster of prizes and nominations.

The ensemble has won an Ivor Novella Award for their performance on the BBC series, The Virgin Queen, as well as two Emmy nominations and an award from the Royal Television Society, for their soundtrack to ITV’s hit period drama, Victoria.

The Mediaeval Baebes are set to perform at the Colchester Arts Centre on Monday, December 19, from 8pm, as part of their MydWynter Tour.
